You know...I watched the subs of this series recently. Bernardo in the pulp books and live action tv series was a mute old servant who spied for Diego...and this Bernardo is a talkative kid sidekick. I rolled my eyes, fondly muttered "anime" under my breath and prepared to tolerate him.
Guess who became my favorite character by the end of the second episode. I mean, damn! Competent, loyal, likable, not afraid to tell Diego off when he thinks he's wrong: this kid is awesome! He really turned the "annoying kid sidekick" cliche on its head. I love the little Fox to bits.
Close second? Garcia. For the last episode.
